GENERAL FUNCTIONS

We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Product Manager to help manage our product development initiatives. This position requires a driven and creative individual who enjoys collaborative problem solving in a cross-functional environment.

The ideal candidate will be organized, agile, and effective at delivering product initiatives on time and in scope. S/he should have a personal passion for web technologies, work effectively within a team environment and be comfortable working in a highly self-directed manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the Design, Development, Marketing, and Business Development teams to define requirements and functional specifications for project initiatives.
• Meticulously think through every aspect of the user experience, putting users' needs and expectations first in the definition of requirements.
• Collect and analyze key site and business metrics and use this data to support the prioritizing and definition of project initiatives.
• Maintain time-lines, deliverables, and requirements for projects so that they launch on time and in scope.
• Gather new ideas for site features by reaching out to the pHion community actively monitoring channels for feedback.
• Track, organize, and prioritize product bugs.
• Monitor product development initiatives of key competitors.
• Help explore product implications for new business and partnership opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA/BS degree; MBA a strong plus
• Minimum 5 years of site product management, product marketing, or consulting experience, preferably in consumer Web-based products.
• Passion for analyzing products, customers and market dynamics.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong use of analytics and business cases to drive decisions.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage projects concurrently.
• Experience or familiarity with Agile product development methodologies.
• Understanding of the technical trade-offs of various Web production technologies.

Web Designer

LOCATION

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

We are currently looking for a multi-skilled designer to join our design team. We're hoping to find someone who can work with our Creative Director on all of our design projects, big and small.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You'll be working primarily our the main site, but we'll also be looking for design work on periodic print projects, micro-sites, partner programs, and all the other little bits of work that crop up.

You’ll be working on everything from the planning stages, to initial concepts, to css/xhtml implementation, to working with the developers to integrate your work. You'll be brainstorming ideas and helping shape the ideas others introduce. You've got to really get off on creating intuitive interfaces that solve complex issues. You'll need to be able to see the whole user experience when designing the UI. You'll also need to be able to follow a defined visual style while helping us shape that style over the long term.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A strong portfolio of work that we can see would be an enormous asset for applicants. An accompanying description of your portfolio, describing its strengths and even its weaknesses, would be even better.
• Very accomplished css and xhtml skills are required.
• Experience with subversion, php, and javascript would be great.

Database Administrator

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

We are currently looking for a database administrator with a background in Microsoft SQL systems. You need to be adaptable and curious about the performance and stability of servers. Perhaps more important than experience and skills is an energetic and relaxed attitude. You need to enjoy big-data problems and, when stress levels rise, a sense of humor is exceedingly important. We have a small, self-driven team. It's an informal environment with high expectations of performance. If that's what you enjoy, then we want to talk to you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help ensure database systems perform reliably.
• Maintain graphing and reports systems for a large database cluster.
• Support administrators and developers to ensure optimal application design.
• Support Operations and Development teams in troubleshooting.
• Gain skills to become more independent in a high-volume database environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of database administration experience.
• Experience in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, system architecture and design with Microsoft SQL.
• Strong grasp of system administration and computer science fundamentals particularly networking (TCP/IP), security and web servers.

Software Developers (multiple positions)

We are looking to add more software developers to join the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We're looking for people with plenty of .net, c#, SQL and large scale website development experience.

You'll be working on a variety of projects - both adding new functionality to www.ph-ion.com, and scaling the site to meet our ever increasing traffic.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ Years developing commercial websites using asp.net, c#, SQL.
• Experience with subversion, javascript, xhtml and css are important.
• Also beneficial would be knowledge of memcached and full text search.
• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science/Computer Information Systems, or other relevant field.
