The 21 Day Journey Towards Vibrant Health. Day 2. How To Take Charge Of Your Body, Your Health, And Your Life!

David Whelan  |  13 Comments

For some reason, the subject of health and healthy living has created a lot more questions than answers. I talk with people all of the time about the subject of health, and a common theme I hear is this…

"I don’t know who or what to believe! I heard that fat is bad for me, but then somebody tells me how good flax oil is for you… and yet it’s fat. Then I heard carbohydrates were bad for me and I should eat more protein…like the atkins diet. And then the atkins guy dies of a heart attack, and I find out that the high protein diet makes you toxic. One doctor tells you this and another one tells you that. It seems that when it comes to health, nobody can seem to agree."

And the statistics support this truth. We are rich in “money, stuff, and things”, but we’re very poor in our health. Ouch.

It’s sad but true… it seems people know more about how their cars operate than how their bodies do. And equally as unfortunate is this… we treat our cars better. Would you ever put anything in your car’s gas tank other than gas? Heck no! Then why do so many of us put something other than food in our bodies? And no…Twinkies aren’t food.

This part is for certain… it’s silly to expect different results…positive results and progress where your health is concerned if your approach is the same as it’s over the last month or year.

Well... that’s really what this journey is all about. DISCOVERING health…not trying to INVENT it. It’s about breaking things down to where they make sense. And I believe if we can break out the truth, bit by bit, we’ll all be empowered to live much healthier and happier lives!

Just the fact that you’re reading this blog tells me that you desire more for yourself…and that’s great! My promise to you is this…you’ll learn a lot more about your health over the next few weeks – and hopefully enjoy the process - and all it will cost you is a little bit of your time each day.

Living a vibrant and healthy life is a PROCESS…not an event. You don’t just wake up one day and everything’s great. There’s no magic pill…no Hollywood diet, no amazing miracle. Vibrant Health is a JOURNEY, and not a destination.

And by the way… I’m just a guy…like anybody else talking about the subject of health. I happen to have a lot of knowledge on the subject because I’ve tried to dig up truth to apply to MY body and MY life. But there are a TON of great resources out there… and people to lean on.

So, keep learning on your journey, and keep searching for truths that will empower you to succeed in the arena of your health. So…Here’s how to take control of your health… get informed, stay informed, and this is the most important thing… apply what you know…even if it’s just a little bit…EVERY Day. Make UNDERTANDING your body a priority, and make healthy and vibrant living a journey.

I’d love to be a person that you take this journey with. My hope is that over years to come, I can share with you what I am constantly learning from some of the best minds in science and health.

So… let’s make some positive changes… let’s break some of these health questions down.

I had been living a great alkaline diet for about 1 year and dropped a couple sizes felt great and looked it too! Then I thought all was good with the world and began adding cheese - then crackers - then sweets. Then the big snowball effect.

Well it is a year later and the extra 20lbs are back along with a 5lb friend attached to it.
I am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Now I am mentally ready to return to an alkaline lifestyle.

Could you please refresh my memory on the best steps to cleansing my entire body. Should I do a liver cleanse first and then the colon cleanse?

Susan... you can lose those 20 pounds before Christmas I bet :)

Susan...start with the colon cleanse / 7 day body cleanse. A seperate liver cleanse will help you lose weight as well.

I have been working out and eating alkaline for 5 weeks, lots of greens, oils and water in my diet thus far. i've so far lost 8 lbs, and my clothes are finally starting to feel a little roomy!! I'm trying to completely overhaul my life (big chore), but it will be worth it!

I also want to transform myself into more of an early morning workout person. I want to get up at five or six and hit the gym or walk with the dog. I agree with the need to set goals. I want to run a 10K run here in the next year too.

Hi All, I wish I had known about this site earlier. There's some great info here. I have had both of my knees replaced, my neck and almost my entire spine are fused. I have opted not to have more surgeries on my spine. I want to see if I can heal my body myself. I have dropped 40 pounds, I eat healthy now, and WAS a diabetic, but not anymore. My chiropracter is helping with the physiological side of healing, and he told me that a lot of the calcification / fusion can be removed my addressing my pH. Hopefully you can help me out!

I'm thinking about going on your complete ph balance system, but I want to wait until after new years because I know I'll be eating a lot of unhealthy foods during the holidays. Do you have any suggestions to prepare me before I do it?
David Whelan  (22 months ago)
Carrie...just start getting in a habit of drinking a lot more water and double your intake of alkaline foods (eat more salads, drink green drinks, etc.) that will help prepare your body for a cleanse.
